We have been told that one very thorough representation sent in by two of the  Ward Members for Sidford, is hard to find on the EDDC website this evening. It is from  Cllrs Marianne Rixson and Dawn Manley (both East Devon Alliance Independents elected to East Devon District Council in May 2015).     For some reason the 375 road has an ‘A’ designation, despite the fact that it had previously had a ‘B’ designation! Several sections around Sidford & Sidbury do not comply with ‘A’ road requirement, with several narrow sections, 20mph restrictions and tight blind bends.

    I live in Sidbury at Furzehill Farmhouse, directly outside we have a very confined narrow section of road that results in frequent traffic hold up requiring larger vehicles or cars to reverse before the blockage can be cleared. Over the years we have obtained a large selection of severed wing mirrors that have struck the eastern end of our property.

    The proposal to add to this serious problem with a new Sidford Industrial Complex, joining this road, is clearly unwise and an alternative site nearer Sidmouth should be considered.

    Furthermore, it is very sad that this application seems to have cancelled/delayed the very popular proposal to construct ae Foopath/Cycle route between Sidford & Sidbury.

    I wish my strong objection to this proposal to be recorded.
