  1. So what was the public’s response to the Public Consultation on The Knowle Planning Application?

    Richard Thurlow (SVA Chair) writes:

“Over 1500 responses were submitted to EDDC in connection with the Outline Planning Application for the Knowle. It is very difficult to find specific authors of replies, except to comb through one by one. The Sid Vale Objection is listed under R Thurlow, and the Chamber of Commerce is listed under Steven Kendall-Torry.

I cannot find one example in support!

Under the section for Official Consultees, no official bodies object to the proposals; Devon County Council actually say that they make traffic conditions better. Sidmouth Town Council hedged their bets by their Split Decision in their usual timorous way, being press-ganged by Anne Liverton.

One day maybe we can hope that they will actually speak out for Sidmouth.
EDDC now will be reviewing the objections; the OPA will be considered at the Development Management Committee on the 20th November.”

  2. The new revised outline planning application for Knowle (application number 12/1847/MOUT), leaves just two short weeks for the public’s response. Deadline for objections must be received by midday, Thursday 8th November. (For details, see Recent Posts on this website).
The date for a decision on the Knowle OPA consequently now slips to 4th December, at the Development Management Committee.
