EDDC – Next Stages in the New Local Plan

On the 8th May the Development Management Committee of the Council considered a revised version of the new Local Plan. The Committee also agreed to consultation over a four week period on maps for the seven main towns of East Devon including Sidmouth

EDDC would welcome comments on these maps and related policies. Comments must be received by 12 noon on 11 June 2012.  We will take comments and further plan amendments back to Council in July 2012.

Save Our Sidmouth Petition Progress

Collecting petition signatures was just as busy as the previous week.

Locals who last week were not sure about all the issues, this week just signed straight away. The surprise was how many tourists wanted to sign up as they come to Sidmouth every year and did not want it spoiled by further development.

There were people who had come as toddlers and were now bringing their own grand children! One man had first ridden on the ‘Toast Rack’ sixty years ago and had been coming every year since. Visitors think of it as their Sidmouth just as much as the people who live here do.
