Please note, any written representations received at the Town Council Offices before 9.30 a.m. on the day of the meeting will be considered by the Committee.
STC’s comments and unanimous vote against Fords’ initial planning application indicated the potential negative impact on the whole Sid Valley of the proposed Business Park, and echoed widespread public concern*.
The supplementary, more detailed documents now submitted, will be closely scrutinised. The new consultation, on the information in these extra documents, is now open for comments. I am a resident at Byes Lane Sidford and my main concern is that additional traffic generated by the proposed business park will add further congestion at Sidford lights, adding further traffic to use Drakes Avenue and Byes Lane as a “by pass” and further affecting the road safety of residents and pedestrians especially school children walking and cycling to college using the route through the Byes.

Thank you for comments, Sandy. Many people share your concerns, including Sidmouth Town Council (STC) , who unanimously rejected Fords’ initial Planning Application (as reported on SOS, in June 2016).
STC will give their views on Fords’ amended application (new documents submitted on 19 August..see EDDC website), at today’s meeting in St Peter’s Church Hall, Sidford, at 6.30pm. Public can attend, of course.
Details of a separate Public Meeting,to be held in Sidford next Monday (12 Sept), will be posted on SOS shortly.
