Save Our Sidmouth

End-of-summer Picnic in the Park, this weekend (Sunday 8th September, 3-5pm, Knowle).

All are warmly invited to this informal event, in the setting of the lovely Knowle parkland. The south-facing terraces of the former hotel (now EDDC HQ) are the perfect spot to enjoy your own picnic, discover the parkland, get to know about plans for Knowle ,..and even win a prize in one of the Knowle-themed competitions!

Organisers Knowle Residents’ Association, backed by Save Our Sidmouth and (non-party-political pressure group) East Devon Alliance, hope you’ll have fun with:

Knowle Fancy Dress (all ages)

Tree Treasure Hunt (courtesy of Sidmouth Arboretum Committee)

Soapbox Poetry … Soapbox provided. Rhymes are up to you*!

*For inspiration, you may recall poems by Knowle fans young and old, from last year’s competition, published in the Sidmouth Herald. Here’s one:

As soon as you step in (by Elliot Wright, aged 10)

As soon as you step in, birds tweet, squirrels scuttle, rabbits twitch and trees sway.
As soon as you step in,foxes scram, badgers burrow. Children laugh
and the king of the Knowle stands firm and strong and for generations it’s watched life grow and go….
More poems at http://sidmouthindependentnews.wordpress.com As soon as you step in , posted 24th November 2012. Poster knowle
There will be SOS and EDA Information stands.
See you there on Sunday…..under the long verandah if wet. Please tell family and friends!
