Polling Day this Thursday, 22nd May
The recent first Sidmouth SeaFest was funded by an EU project to promote knowledge and protection for coastal communities such as ours. Some useful information about this week’s European elections can be found on the EDA website. See http://eastdevonalliance.org/2014/05/18/voting-at-the-european-elections-on-thursday-a-handy-guide/
Readings from East Devon Writers (humorous and otherwise!), this Friday evening, 23rd May.
Message received from Mike Temple of the Knowle Residents’ Association:
” When did you last visit Sidmouth Library? May I suggest you do so sometime this week, for there you will find a lively selection of books by local writers and books about the area, including writing from a recent competition about a place or event in East Devon.
Some of the best of this writing, published and otherwise (humorous and/or serious, will be heard in the Public Readings to be given at The Institute, Yonder Street, Ottery St Mary on 23 May 7.30 pm till 9. Admission is free and there is free parking at Sainsbury’s after 7pm. The event will feature readings by several local authors as well as famous writers from the past. It will also incorporate a literary and historical tour and reflect the varied life and character of the district. A book is planned for later in the year.”
