Access road to planned Sidford business park

Thank you to the Sidford resident whose pictures taken today show the hazards and impracticalities of siting employment land on this country road to Sidbury:

To be factored in to the new Local Plan?

Here we go again – another flood alert for the Sid Valley. That makes twelve alerts since 21st October 2013, as shown in this latest chart: Flood Alerts Winter 13 14

Should this be a serious consideration, when EDDC envisages ‘compensating’ for a loss of almost 400 jobs at Knowle, with a proposed employment site (with hundreds of parking places), on a floodplain at Sidford?

Presumably, EDDC Cabinet will have this in mind when discussing the detail, and the worth, of the Knowle relocation costs, at their part B meeting on the evening of Wednesday 5th February?

This is of course when the Overview and Scrutiny Committee’s demand, for more factual evidence, will be addressed by the Cabinet. (See https://saveoursidmouth.com/2014/01/31/knowle-relocation-costs-we-have-not-been-properly-informed-says-eddc-committee/ )

Wednesday’s meeting, at Knowle, starts at 5.30pm. Click here for the agenda: http://www.eastdevon.gov.uk/cabinet_agenda_050214_public_version.pdf Public can ask questions.

(PS. Just as well the Knowle Council Chamber , and offices, are on a hill!)
