Council Leader Paul Diviani expected to chair Cabinet meeting tomorrow ( 5.30pm, Weds 3rd April, at Knowle)

Members of the public are welcome to attend. Items 9 and 19 on the agenda may be of particular interest.  They are:

Item 9. To note or take appropriate action in respect of the minutes of the meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee held on 28 February 2013.

(SOS readers may have noticed that the minutes of OSC 28 Feb were published, unusually, as part of the agenda for March 28 – possibly an oversight?)
Item 19. Monitoring of formal complaints and Local Government Ombudsman complaints (Quarter 3 2012/2013)

Item 20 will be held in private.
The full agenda is available at EDDC ‘s own website, or at http://sidmouthindependentnews.wordpress.com

Both Planning Applications for Feniton rejected by DMC

The Development Management Committee today turned down two controversial planning applications for housing on greenfield sites at Feniton. They were for 32 and 59 houses, respectively. Councillors Keys and Atkins were the only two to vote in favour of the first planning application.

The quality of debate at the Knowle meeting this afternoon was reportedly of a high standard, from councillors and public alike.  More comment at http://www.claire-wright.org

Large public presence expected at this afternoon’s DMC meeting, 2pm at Knowle.

Calls will be made to defer decisions on two planning applications for Feniton, pending investigation into the Graham Brown affair. Mr Brown has recently been obliged to relinquish his positions as ward member for Feniton and Buckerell; as a member of the East Devon Conservative Party; and as Chairman of the East Devon Business Forum.
